The haptic delivery system provides tactile feedback during virtual reality experiments. The system includes:
Actuators are placed under chair legs or on a platform and deliver vibrations based on the VR environment (e.g. movement of elevators). Install in fewer than 15 minutes with no modifications to furniture or flooring required.
The system is compatible with SuperLab, E-Prime, Vizard VR Toolkit, and other presentation systems that interface your computer's sound card.
Haptic feedback is increasingly being used as a substitute and/or augmentation for audio or visual cues. For one example, see Kahol K., French, J., et al. (2006).
